The department provides financial assistance and food stamps to Ontario County residents including Temporary Assistance for Need Families, Safety Net and medical assistance. Other services include day care subsidies, energy assistance and emergency housing. Family and Children's services available including child protective, preventative and foster care services. The department investigates, on a 24-hour basis, complaints regarding child abuse, neglect, maltreatment and domestic violence. Programs require completion of an application. Most programs have income eligibility guidelines. Protective, preventative, foster care and domestic violence do not have income eligibility guidelines.

Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

24 Hour Service: 24-hour response is available for child protective investigations and domestic violence services.
