Job Corps provides training programs for youth aged 16 to 24. Students stay at a residential campus while attaining their General Equivalency Diploma and learn a trade and receive certification. Students who already have their high school diplomas or GED can got to the Job Corps to attain trade certification. Participants receive career counseling, trade certification, medical, dental, and vision expenses covered, drivers' education expenses covered, laundry facilities, trips off center, extracurricular activities, a clothing allowance, bi-weekly living allowance from $25 to $50, mental health counseling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation (students must stay drug and alcohol free to remain in the program) social skills training, and vocational/life/academic skills training.
Hours: Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m; Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fees Charged: There is no charge for services, which are funded by the federal government.
How to Access Services: Those who participate must attend an orientation program; those seeking to participate should call the office to arrange an orientation date.
