The program provides free, confidential counseling to individuals or families having difficulty making ends meet. The Family Budget Counseling Program can help individuals and families develop skills in setting up a spending plan, general financial planning, obtaining and using credit wisely and understanding consumer rights and responsibilities. Counseling programs are scheduled at a time and place convenient for the family and the trained volunteer counselor.

Making Ends Meet

This is a two hour basic budgeting class to help people of all ages set financial goals, develop a spending plan and get the most for their money. Exploring Credit, Debt Management
This program is designed to help participants develop an understanding of the world of credit and debt and how it impacts their lives and how they can manage it successfully.  The workshop covers the various types of credit available, to the cost of various credit option, debt management strategies, credit reports and how to improve personal credit and strategies to establish or rebuild credit.  The class is free but pre-registration is required by calling (585) 394-3977x409.  The sponsor is Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County, as part of Heat-Smart NY, 480 North Main Street, Canandaigua, NY  14424.
