Bloomfield Nursery School seeks to serve the needs of young children and their families by supplementing the home environment with developmentally appropriate social, emotional, physical and cognitive experiences. We try to provide a program that will equip children with sills to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

Learning activities such as games, finger play, painting and stories encourage children to listen, construct, move and interact while developing language, numeration and social skills. The program fosters creativity and questioning and allows children to make independent choices.

The program's membership is made up of tuition-paying family units, including those who are eligible for scholarship award. Each family will serve as a parent-helper on days as assigned by the class representative, serve on one committee and perform cleaning duties (usually one weekend each year).

Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Mission:The Bloomfield Nursery School shall be a non-sectarian, non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the experience of preschool children enrolled in its program. It shall strive to develop positive self-concepts and peer relationships. It shall also strive to build a more positive relationship between parent and child by being a cooperative nursery school.

Service Area: Open to any families with children who meet th age requirements (see below) and who accept the responsibilities associated with a cooperative nursery school.

Populations Served: The program admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin or religious affiliation to any and all rights, privileges, programs and activities made available at school. Children applying for a 3-year-old class shall be three years old on or before Dec. 1 of that school children; children applying for a 4-year-old class shall be four years old on or before Dec. 1 of that school year.

Our program is funded solely by tuition collected throughout the year from our member families, through fund raising efforts which each member family must participate in, and through community sponsorship and donations.

The program's major annual fund raiser is a silent auction and dinner held each November at Bristol Mountain. The program is always accepting donations of goods or services to be promoted and auctioned at the event. More information can be obtained by contacting the nursery at (585)657-6973.
